Henderson Rotary is pleased to welcome Waitakere College as a Corporate Member of the club. President Ian Foster inducted Principal Mark Shanahan and Business Manager Kath Kemp to the club on Thursday 22nd September 2016.
Henderson Rotary was keen to further develop the relationship with Waitakere College who we have already been heavily involved with through providing their Year 12 students with the opportunity to attend the RYDA (Rotary Youth Driving Awareness) programme. Our Rotary International Youth Exchange students attend Waitakere College and the school has been very supportive of this programme.
Earlier in 2016, Henderson Rotary paid for a teacher from Waitakere College to attend the week long leadership development course RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) held at Muriwai Beach.
The new relationship will see senior staff members from Waitakere College regularly attending Henderson Rotary meetings to learn more about Rotary and to let us know more about what’s happening at the School. We see this as a win-win for both organisations and look forward to working with Waitakere College.
