Rotary through the Generations

Both Mum and Dad (Linda and Ian) have been active within the Rotary Community for some time, both were members of Henderson Rotaract and both became President, in fact Dad even became District Chairperson. When the time came to leave Rotaract and join Rotary I'm sure there wasn't much consideration, it was the only thing to do. Mum and Dad have loved being a part of Henderson Rotary Club and Dad has served the Club well being President and also receiving the Paul Harris Fellow Award.

When my sister, Stephanie, and I were born Rotary became a part of our lives too. Stephanie became a Rotary International Exchange Student, which started her passion for travelling. On return, she worked hard and her efforts were rewarded when the Henderson Rotary Club sponsored her to attended RYLA.

So, I guess you could say Rotary has always been in my blood, tonight I was lucky enough to join the Rotary family once again but in the deep south, for tonight I was inducted as a Rotaract member for the Dunedin North Club. I love being a part of a group of young, dynamic people who serve the community and enjoy good fellowship. I look forward to many more fun
activities serving the community, if it's walking dogs for the SPCA, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner parties, packing fruit, sewing for pregnancy support or just having trivia nights, I am enjoying every part of being a part of the global community of Rotaract and Rotary.

I would like to thank all the past and current members of Henderson Rotary Club for their love, support and encouragement, for without their fantastic experience my family has had, then I wouldn't have joined Rotaract tonight.
